Our Farms
Sustainable farming and
the world's richest soil.
MIC Food operates its own farms as well as working in partnership with other farm operations to control the quality of the food we produce. Take our Costa Rica operations, for example. We grow plantains and other crops in the lowlands of the bio-diverse Talamanca zone, where the indigenous people love and respect the land. Local legend has it that the soil is "blessed by the gods" because it produces high yields and the best quality fruit.
We use no chemicals or preservatives in processing the food we grow and seek environmentally friendly products to use in our operations. The water used in the production process flows from deep wells, is then filtered, purified and returned to the fields. Other sustainable practices we follow include capturing organic material left over from production for use as organic fertilizer and animal feed. And naturally, our plants have recycling practices that lower their ecological footprint.
At MIC Food, we never forget that we are stewards of the land and natural resources we utilize.
